How does the pricing work?
Importo has three plans, all billed through Shopify in USD: Free (100 products, one-time), Basic ($19/month for 500 products) and Pro ($29/month for 2000 products). You can upgrade or cancel at any time from inside the app.
Is the free plan really free, and does it renew?
Yes — no card is needed. The free plan includes 100 products as a one-time trial so you can run Importo on your own data before paying. It does not top up each month; once it is used, you upgrade to keep importing.
What file formats do you support?
The free plan imports CSV, Excel, PDF and image files. The Basic and Pro plans add PDF and image imports (JPG, PNG), including scanned documents, which are read with OCR.
Can I import product variants and options?
Yes. Importo detects variants and options, and lets you review and edit every product before it is created in your store. Nothing is written to your catalogue until you approve it.
What happens if I reach my product limit?
You are told before an import starts if it would exceed your remaining allowance. On the Basic and Pro plans the allowance renews at the start of each calendar month; on the free trial it does not renew, so you would upgrade to carry on.
How do I cancel, and what about billing questions?
Cancel any time from the billing page in the app — Shopify stops charging at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. If something went wrong with a charge, email support and we will sort it out with you directly.
How does the AI-powered import work?
Spreadsheets are read deterministically: a model identifies which column is which, then code copies every price, SKU and quantity across unchanged. PDFs and images are read with OCR and then extracted by a model. Either way you review the result before anything is created, and prices are never invented — a missing price stays missing and is flagged.

When you install Importo through Shopify, we collect your store information including store name, domain, and contact details as provided by Shopify's OAuth process.
Product Data
We process the product information from files you upload (CSV, Excel, PDF, images) to extract and structure data for import into your Shopify store.

We collect information about how you use our Service, including the number of products imported and features accessed.

3. Data Storage and Security
Database Storage
Your account information and processed product data are stored securely in our Supabase PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest.
File Processing
Uploaded files are processed temporarily and are not permanently stored on our servers. Files are automatically deleted after processing is complete.
Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
4. Third-Party Services
Shopify
We integrate with Shopify to access your store and create products. This integration is governed by Shopify's privacy policy and terms of service.
Google Gemini AI
We use Google Gemini AI to process and extract product information from your uploaded files. Data sent to Gemini is processed according to Google's privacy policies and is not stored by Google.
Supabase
We use Supabase for secure data storage and user authentication. Supabase complies with GDPR and other privacy regulations.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties except as described in this privacy policy. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy. Specifically:

- • Uploaded files: Deleted immediately after processing
- • Usage data: Retained for up to 2 years for analytics purposes
